The Charleston Santa Monica Introduces Big Band Thursdays With Lounge-O-Rama
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- The Charleston, Santa Monica’s premier 1920’s style gastropub, is serving up some old-time jazz tunes every Thursday night with Big Band Thursdays, the second introduction to their all new fall lineup. Big Band Thursdays will feature the musical stylings of Lounge-O-Rama, a full band that was recently named the “Best Party Band in L.A.”
Lounge-O-Rama will be playing selections from their library of 100-years-of-popular music, emphasizing early jazz standards from Isham Jones, Hoagy Carmichael, Gershwin, and Cole Porter, to name a few. The old-time jazz set is a homage to The Charleston’s 20's speakeasy theme. As the party gets going, Lounge-O-Rama will crank up the beat and move the music time machine forward like a DeLorean.
And thanks to The Charleston’s new partnership with Uber, everyone’s private driver, the deal gets even sweeter. First time riders will receive a complimentary ride to or from The Charleston up to $20, so no need to worry about over indulging.
The party starts every Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. Dinner reservations are recommended via Opentable or by calling (310) 828-2115.
The Charleston is located at:
2460 Wilshire Blvd.
Santa Monica, CA 90403

About Lounge-O-Rama:
Lounge-O-Rama™ was founded in 2003 and draws influence from artists too varied and numerous to list. In a single night they might play from the book of Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter, Elvis, Stevie Wonder, and The Black Crowes – leaving the audience to debate which style they do best. The band has appeared frequently, all over Southern California, playing for university galas, NASCAR races, fundraisers, private parties, corporate events and weddings - all by word-of-mouth. To date, the band has never auditioned for a gig.
What Lounge-O-Rama does is entertain a crowd like no other band ever seen, whether it’s a small audience at a private home or a full-on rock show for thousands. The energy, versatility, and just plain fun of this group has to been seen and heard to be believed.
About The Charleston:
After opening in March 2012, The Charleston has quickly become the Westside’s premier spot for live Jazz and “dinner and a show” atmosphere. In addition to their specialty cocktails, the Charleston serves up an unexpectedly diverse and delicious array of American comfort food with an international twist.
