The Coast2CoastRx Program and the Texas Conference of Urban Counties Celebrate $59 Million in Prescription Savings
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 01, 2016 -- Dallas County tops the list of counties with the most saved at over $39,000,000.00. Collin County has saved residents over $7,000,000.00 on their prescriptions since its launch. Nueces County residents have saved nearly $4,000,000.00. The Coast2CoastRx program has been implemented in 12 counties that are members of the Urban Counties and another 8 counties in Texas and the City of Houston also participates in the program. The Urban Counties represents 80% of the population base in the State of Texas.
“The Texas Conference for Urban Counties has made it a priority to help Counties offer quality programs like the Coast2CoastRx program to Texas residents. The program has helped countless Texas residents afford prescriptions they may not be able to otherwise,” said Donald Lee, Executive Director of the Texas Conference for Urban Counties. He added, “As an organization we will continue to offer programs like the Coast2CoastRx program that better the health of Texas communities as it has proven to be a valuable asset to our residents and their families.” The Texas Conference for Urban Counties has endorsed the Coast2CoastRx program and encourages all Texas Counties to participate.
The Coast2Coast Rx card allows all Texas residents, regardless of income, age, or health status to participate in the program and save on the cost of their medications. The program has saved cardholders throughout the nation an average of 60 percent in 2016 on the cost of prescription drugs. The Rx card is distributed free of charge and may be used at all pharmacy chains and most independent pharmacies in Texas and includes over 60,000 drugs in its formulary.
