The Doctors Are Sick Of Our Kids Failing In Common Core Math
San Diego, California (PRWEB) September 15, 2015 -- The California Physicians group who created “Common Core Math Video Tutor for Parents and Kids” have announced that they are sick of our kids failing in Common Core. “Our deficiencies in math and science can no longer be tolerated. We can either sit back and hope for the best, or we can do something about it”, says Dr Jackson. As a result, the doctors of the Self Learning Network are volunteering their own time to the underserved area of San Bernardino county in California. “We can not and must not watch our kids fail any longer. It’s time we all join in the effort to make a difference. Even if that means giving up time in our busy schedules to help out these kids ourselves. Someone at some point helped all of us as well”, says Dr Jackson.
According to Dr. Jackson, “while the evidence is still anecdotal, our ongoing success at teaching Common Core Math to parents and kids has convinced us that we can make a positive difference in the academic lives of our children. Teaching the parents is equally important to teaching kids Common Core Math given that students will be looking to their parents for help. We look forward to post instruction testing of parents and students participating in this year-long San Bernardino program. ” Dr. Jackson continues, “our kids for decades have been out-educated by countries who have been using Common Core-type principles to educate their children. In the latest round of Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) testing in 2012, U.S. students ranked 27th in math and 20th in science among the 34 participating member nations. Data from American Center for Progress 2013 reports that only 26% of high school graduates in the U.S. are proficient at college level mathematics.”
“We all must do our part, even if it is perceived as small. One step at a time”, says Dr Jackson. “We can and will make a difference. We invite anyone who is reading this and has the skills to help, to also join the effort to educate our kids. One does not have to necessarily be an educator to volunteer. These kids are desperate and need our assistance. Parents must learn the basics of Common Core Math as well. Love it or hate it, Common Core is here. The longer one waits to learn Common Core Math the further kids will fall behind. It’s a fact - parental involvement is the biggest predictor of a child's success.
