The European Union Invests €2 Million in Clairy, the Smart Flowerpot the Fights Indoor Pollution
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 26, 2017 -- Clairy is a smart flowerpot that uses real plants to fight against indoor pollution. It has a technology unit with sensors that measure indoor pollution, and it can be connected to smartphones to communicate real-time data. Clairy was created by three Italians: Paolo Ganis, Alessio D’Andrea and Vincenzo Vitiello, and it found incredible success on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, raising over $370,000.
The product was first shown at CES 2016, and after a three-month period in Silicon Valley with one of the biggest accelerators in the US, Plug and Play ventures, the team then went back to Italy since the product is proudly handmade in Venetian Ceramic. Clairy also won a European Product Design Award, and Clairy’s CEO, Paolo Ganis, was called at the G20 in Germany as a finalist of the Global Youth Entrepreneur Award.
After all of these incredible accomplishments, the European Union decided to invest in this company and its technology with a grant of almost two million Euro. “This incredible result comes after over a year of tough work,” comments Ganis. “Getting this grant is really difficult; the product is examined by the highest consultants of the EU. Of over 2,000 products submitted, only 30 got funding, and we are really proud of this achievement.”
Now, the startup is working on new products and is expanding the team. The funds will be used mainly for research and development and to hire the best talent. The Clairy team is hoping to launch a new Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign by the end of March 2018. “Our crowdfunding campaign was the key of our success; we were helped by the PR firm Enventys Partners who really made the best out of it. We now hope to do another, even bigger, successful campaign next time!” concludes Ganis.
