The Final Version of WinRAR 5.30 is Ready for Download

The main focus of the new release has been on usability and compatibility improvements for multipart archives, offering the customer the best solution to archive, compress and secure their personal data.
Enhanced extraction support for multipart archives:
WinRAR 5.30 now supports the extraction of files that have been split into multiple parts with the extensions .001, .002, ... . It combines all parts and saves them to the extracted file if all files are stored in the same folder. Furthermore, WinRAR is now also able to extract multipart ZIP archives created with 7-Zip. In order to unpack or browse in such archives the user needs to open .zip.001 in the WinRAR shell. Again, all parts must be stored in the same folder before starting extraction. These improvements will help to handle huge amounts of data from different sources and in different formats.
Enhanced Usability:
The latest version provides enhancements of usability for the graphical user interface and command line modus of WinRAR. Thus, for example in WinRAR file list the user can navigate in recently visited folders with the mouse 'Back' and 'Forward' buttons or Alt+Left and Alt+Right keyboard shortcuts. Also, for command line mode there are some new commands available which will simplify the WinRAR usage in this mode.
Furthermore, WinRAR prevents a computer to go to sleep by inactivity timeout until the current operation, such as archiving, extraction or any other archive processing, is done. This is extremely useful for time consuming tasks such as creating backups with WinRAR or extracting huge files.
In previous versions it was already possible to pause every compression or decompression operation. Now this functionality is also available for SFX archives. The 'Extract' button is changed to 'Pause' once the extraction has been started. This is needed if the user’s system is overloaded with tasks or if the user manually wants to interrupt the extraction process of an SFX archive.

A useful tip for all Windows-64-bit users: It is highly recommended to install the 64-bit version. It is faster and offers the best available integration. WinRAR’s compression speed in all Windows versions and on any multi-core-system has been increased considerably.
