The First Anniversary of the Official Portal for the Globalization of Korean Food: "Eat, Play, Love: My Memoirs of Korea" Event [Korean Food Foundation]
Seoul, South Korea (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 -- To celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of its official portal for the globalization of Korean food (http://www.koreanfood.net), the Korean Food Foundation (KFF) hosted the "Eat, Play, Love" event for foreigners to experience the rich culinary culture of Korea through the memoirs of Koreans. As part of the "Eat, Play, Love: My Memoirs of Korean Food", the event was held on September 17, 2013 at the Seoul Global Culture & Tourism Center in Myeong-dong.
The "Eat, Play, Love: My Memoirs of Korean Food" was truly a unique event that attracted a lot attention for combining a Korean food experience for foreigners and an opportunity for Korean participants to share heartwarming stories of personal memories of Korean food with the world. Stories of Korean foods that the Korean storytellers held dear to their hearts were submitted and shared through the Korean Food Foundation website (http://www.koreanfood.net).
The nostalgic foods from the two best stories, Kimchi Jjigae [Kimchi Stew] and Toran Guk [Taro Soup], were presented to 20 foreign participants at the "Eat, Play, Love" event, which gave them the opportunity to experience and taste the foods that have healed the minds and bodies of the Korean storytellers.
Hosted just prior to the Chuseok holidays, a major harvest festival, a feast of Korean traditional foods was served alongside the two main dishes of the event. Chinese participate Xu Jing (33) said, "Although I’ve tried many Korean foods that are well known in China, it was my first time trying traditional Korean dishes. It was a great opportunity to try so many different dishes."
Exchange student from Armenia Laluka(23) said, "It always felt a little weird when all my Korean friends went home for the Chuseok holidays. It was great of the Korean Food Foundation to share this opportunity with me and my friends. I will definitely try to make some of the dishes that I ate here today."
The Korean Food Foundation says, "It was a great chance for use to share our love for Korean cuisine with foreigners" and "we hope that we can further advance the globalization of Korean food through more events like this in the future."
