The First Graduating Class of Podiatric Practice Managers Received CMOM-POD Certification Pins at AAPPM Fall Conference in San Antonio
San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) December 02, 2016 -- The American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management (AAPPM) has partnered with Practice Management Institute, the nation's leading and largest provider of non-clinical practice management education, to develop the Certified Medical Office Manager – Podiatry (CMOM-POD). The CMOM-POD is the first of its kind for the podiatric profession and first specialty certification administered by PMI.
The CMOM-POD certification opened just a few months ago and already has 14 executive managers enrolled. During the 2016 AAPPM Fall Conference, the first class of CMOM-POD sat for the exam. The AAPPM crowd of over 200 physicians, assistants, executive managers and exhibitors witnessed the first seven CMOM-POD graduates pinned with their new certification.
During the graduation ceremony, the AAPPM President Ben Weaver, DPM, said “I am so proud of these fine ladies for this achievement. This first graduating class of the CMOM-POD certification is the culmination of work that started over seven years ago. It is incredible to see this dream come true.”
Michael Moore, PMI’s Vice President of Business Development was on hand at the ceremony and spoke to the audience as well. “The very best organizations work diligently to create, endorse, and promote education opportunities. The AAPPM and PMI entered into this partnership to provide this opportunity to help these seven executive managers further their education. Speaking on behalf of all us at the PMI, we are proud of this partnership and honored to be part of this CMOM-POD graduation.” Moore added, “we look forward to what the future has in store for all of us with this partnership.”
The inaugural CMOM-POD class of graduates includes: Tana Hager, Colleen Griffith, Sam Guillory, Diane Kindinger, Angel Piper, Sally Stump, and Brooke Weaver. All of them were awarded with a commemorative pin and the CMOM-POD designation.
