The First Sports App For Superstitious Baseball Fans
Lake Oswego, OR (PRWEB) June 10, 2015 -- True Fan LLC today launched the first ever sports mobile application to help fans test their superstition’s impact on sports events. The fledgling app focuses on baseball with more sports already in the pipeline. The new app launches today and is available for free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and will be available on Android Platforms July, 2015.
Sports superstitions make fans feel part of the game.* The free app is designed to take the true fan’s superstition, karma, and juju seriously. The quick tap and entry interface fits the on-the-go lifestyle of today's sports fan. The app features a statistical meter with six sectors of achievement as well as a myIMPACT level based on true percentages of the user’s ability to influence events with their lucky charm, lucky routine, etc. Fans will also enjoy the app's ability to store statistics (mySTATS) documenting each time they attempt to influence a game. Other features include the ability to add lucky images and a default favorite. Screen shots and a description can be found on the myIMPACT website: http://www.myimpactapp.com.
“The ‘it’s only weird if it doesn’t work’ Super Bowl ad campaign and the ‘juju’ scenes in the film Silver Linings Playbook made me curious how many other fans believe that they can bring their team good luck. My research validated my hunches, and it turns out that about 40% of sports fans believe that their particular superstitious enhancement can impact their team and help them win.**
"I thought it would help the superstitious sports fan to have an app that actually kept track of how well their juju was actually working. The app functions as an electronic version of the Jennifer Lawrence character in Silver Linings Playbook setting Robert De Niro’s character straight. Maybe you’ll find that wearing your lucky jersey has more impact on your team’s performance than growing a rally beard. Maybe sitting in the same section and ordering the same hot dog is your winning formula. I developed the app so that the sports fan can measure their impact and then compare (or even compete) with other fans. Maybe with myIMPACT you’ll be able to finally prove to your wife why it’s critical that your lucky socks not get washed next week!” said Dr. Jon Plant, Founder and CEO of True Fan LLC.
Additional features of the myIMPACT Sports mobile app include:
• Hot links to brag about your success via social media
• The ability to “Clear Your Karma” and start with a clean slate
As Americans spend 60 percent of their digital media time on mobile (ComScore), the simplicity of the myIMPACT karma-tracking app is intended to engage the “old guard” generation of baseball enthusiasts while attracting a new generation of young, tech-savvy sports fans by making their superstitions more a part of sports conversations.
