The Flood Audiobook Debuts Early
Prince Frederick, MD (PRWEB) August 16, 2013 -- Critically acclaimed author David Hewson released his new full-length Italian mystery as an unabridged audiobook one full year before its print release. A worldwide exclusive, The Flood was released early to meet the growing demands for audiobooks. Published by Recorded Books, LLC, the largest independent producer of unabridged audiobooks, they will be driving both digital and CD sales of The Flood into all markets.
“Audiobooks are the purest form of story-telling,” said David Hewson, bestselling author of The Killing. “This is a new departure for me and I’m sure it won’t be the last.” Hewson also comments that multiple award-winning narrator Saul Reichlin has already “won thousands of fans [for my books] around the world – at the microphone.”
The Flood is set in Florence, 1986. A seemingly inexplicable attack on a church fresco of Adam and Eve brings together an unlikely couple: Julia Wellbeloved, an art student, and Pino Fratelli, a semi-retired detective who longs to be back in the field. Their investigation leads them to the secret society that underpins the city, and back to the darkness in Florence’s past: the night of the great flood in 1966.
“Audiobooks are a natural extension of reading in the digital age and David Hewson is one of an ever-increasing number of authors leveraging this growing audience,” commented Matt Walker, Vice President, Recorded Books. “We are very pleased that our England office, W.F. Howes was able to procure this deal which allows us to reach out globally to audiobook fans everywhere.”
The Flood is available for purchase in the following formats: audiobook, retail download, library download, library CD and retail CD with cross media review coverage.
