KushSack truly started back in about 2005 when Darin Daniel was in college. One of the major bean bag chair companies was having a close out sale for many of their most popular covers in some of their most popular fabrics. Having always thought that this particular company charged way too much; Darin bought up as many covers as he could afford and found a solution for the foam, then sold his version of a foam filled chair to all of his friends and acquaintances. Needless to say - everyone was stoked out of their minds that they could get the same product for a third of the price. He knew that he was on to something.
After finishing school Darin continued to pursue a way to sell these products at a price that made sense while maintaining quality that would be just as good if not better than the leading competitors. First he had to insure that the foam would be top quality with the right mixture of polyurethane foam. Polyurethane foam has a ton of different uses from car seats, to surfboards, even boats.
But most familiar to most is likely its use in the couch sat on at home. Understanding that in order for the bean bags to be the best; KushSack had to make sure that the foam wasn’t too soft because if it is - ones rear will hit the ground when sat on. Especially if it’s jumped into (don’t try at home, it hurts). They also, cannot be too hard, or in other words - too full of foam. When that happens and one sits down it looks like one is perched on a big bouncy ball that they’re about to roll off of. After perfecting the right balance of sturdiness and softness, KushSack has found the perfect amount of foam for each of the shapes and sizes so that when KushSack owners sit down they will sink right in and be able to kick their feet up, and most likely fall asleep.
Now let’s move on to the fabrics. Although most micro suede’s and micro velvets look about the same, the difference in quality is the key here. Many of the fabrics being looked into at first had the look that was desired but didn’t meet the level of comfort desired. Having to make sure that the fabric was something that would last, while also wanting to make sure that the customers would be able to wash it without having to send it away to the cleaners. On top of all that, the fabric had to be durable so that it could handle wash after wash and continue to look as good as the day it first showed up on the customers door step. At this time KushSack is proud to say that they have been able to find just that. All of KushSacks fabrics are machine washable, of the highest quality, and the fabric will last for as long as people are able to sit on it.
The question now lies, what is the difference… simply stated, it’s the price. With KushSack one doesn’t need a $20,000+ movie room to enjoy the comfort of a high quality foam bean bag chair. The Name:
The word Kush, especially when spelled with a ‘K’ has brought many interesting visitors to KushSacks website, and even more interesting questions about why they decided on that name. The truth is - the name comes from the word cushion. As the name of the website and company were being discussed they were trying to come up with a word that would always be associated with comfort. SoftSacks, ComfortSacks, CushionSacks, CushySacks, and then, finally KushSacks. Why they chose to spell it with a K, one might ask? Because they wanted to create their own word just as they created their own bean bags, and felt it looked better than a ‘C’ anyways. KushSack wants it’s customers to always think of the KushSack name as synonymous with comfort. After deciding on the name KushSack they also discovered that there was an ancient African kingdom that went by the name Kingdom of Kush, which was the very first Kingdom in Africa. This information only added to the excitement about the name. KushSacj found that the Kush rulers were responsible for maintaining the houses of the gods. KushSack likes to think they’re doing pretty much the same thing.
The Future:
Bean bag chairs are only the beginning for KushSack. They have products in development that they are positive will blow minds with their uniqueness and ability to provide new ways of relaxation. In the next 6 months KushSack will be rolling out at least two new items that as with bean bags, will be perfect for any room in the house.
