The Future of Disease Diagnosis to be Revealed at Pathology Visions Conference in San Diego

At Pathology Visions 2017, The Digital Pathology Association’s annual conference held from October 1-3 in San Diego, researchers, practitioners, professionals and vendors convene to showcase the best in new technology and discuss the innovative practices making digital pathology the future of the field.
The recent FDA ruling allowing for the first whole slide imaging system for digital pathology was a milestone for pathology in the US, and the sign of a rapidly shifting industry that will continue to revolutionize the diagnostic capabilities of the medical field. Now, Pathology Visions 2017 covers a wide range of topics including whole slide imaging for primary diagnosis, practicing digital pathology in the CLIA environment, CAP guidelines of HER2 quantitative image analysis of breast cancer, applications of digital pathology in precision medicine and translational medicine, pathology informatics, advanced image analysis, deep learning and much more.
Throughout the Conference, participants will hear from keynote presenter Dr. Michael J. Becich on “Towards a Digital Pathology Commons”, plenary presenter Keith Miller on “From Diagnostics to Quality Control: The Amazing Possibilities of Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Pathology Setting” as well as many more timely topic presentations and workshops by distinguished speakers in two simultaneous Clinical and Education/Research Tracks. Additional presentations include five pre-conference workshops and two breakfast workshops. Among the over 30 presenters are representatives from the DPA, College of American Pathologists (CAP), Association of Pathology Informatics (API), National Society of Histology (NSH) and academia.
