The Gerald Peters Galleries of New York and Santa Fe Proudly Announce Max Weber: In Retrospect
Santa Fe, New Mexico (PRWEB) January 06, 2016 -- This December 11th marks the debut of Max Weber: In Retrospect, a collection of exclusive paintings and drawings from one of the most celebrated modern American artists. The exhibition is being held at the Gerald Peters Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Max Weber was born in 1881 and arrived in Paris in 1905, where he began his studies and started to dedicate his life to the creation of modern art. Weber was influenced heavily by his teacher Henri Matisse and his friend, Henri Rousseau. Before his return to New York in 1908, Weber also met Picasso and discovered the work of Paul Cézanne.
After honing his skills in Paris, Weber returned to America and introduced the country to his experiments with cubism and his explorations of abstractions, which were received as revelations to American critics, collectors and artists. His innovations continued to evolve until the end of his life in 1961. The exhibition at the Gerald Peters Gallery will take guests on a journey of Weber’s artistic growth over the years.
The debut of the exhibition for Max Weber’s work will not be the first hosted by the Gerald Peters Gallery. Previous exhibitions have focused on his cubism, his devotion to still life painting, on his romance with the human figure, and, finally, his late abstractions. The exhibition next week will be the first since 2000 that focuses on Weber’s career as a whole.
