The Giving Tree Wellness Center Matching Donations to American Cancer Society in Weeks Leading Up to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K
Phoenix (PRWEB) October 12, 2016 -- The Giving Tree Wellness Center, a leading Arizona licensed medical marijuana dispensary, is participating in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K walk on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Tempe Beach Park. From now until October 21 patients can support The Giving Tree’s team by donating at either of the dispensary locations in Phoenix and Mesa. The Giving Tree is matching all donations and has raised nearly $6,500 to date.
“We help many patients at The Giving Tree find relief from cannabis during their fight against breast cancer,” said Lilach Power, managing director at The Giving Tree. “Patients are thankful for the medicine we can provide, and we are thankful for their open mind and for spreading the word about medical cannabis. Raising funds for the American Cancer Society is just one way we can give back to the community and the patients who support us and our mission.”
To reward patients for donating, The Giving Tree will raffle off nearly $3,000 worth of prizes ranging from edibles to t-shirts from a dozen industry vendors throughout the week of Oct. 24. Patients who donate $5 will receive one raffle ticket with their donation.
Additionally, on the Wednesdays leading up to the 5K, patients will receive a 30 mg edible in the form of a pink heart shaped cookie for their $10 donation. On Fridays, a $5 donation is worth two raffle tickets and a $10 donation will receive a complimentary pre-roll. Donating patients are also invited to add to The Giving Tree’s “Wall of Hope” by filling out a card to honor or remember friends, family and loved ones who have been affected by breast cancer.
