The Grommet to Debut new Wholesale Exhibit at NY Now
Somerville, MA (PRWEB) July 21, 2014 -- WHAT:
The Grommet, a unique product launch platform for the world’s most innovative, new-to-market products, will exhibit their wholesale platform and central involvement in the growing Maker Movement at the upcoming NY NOW tradeshow set for August 16-20, 2014.
To merge the worlds of traditional product launch and today’s Maker Movement, The Grommet will also bring their Makers who will showcase their products, giving them an un-paralleled opportunity for exposure and access to the $4 trillion retail business they need to penetrate in order to be successful.
Featured Makers at the exhibit include Yoga by Numbers, Cuppow, Eyn and Flowfold. Additionally, over a dozen Makers from the Art, Fitness, Tech and Gadget, Toy, Pet, Apparel, Home and Décor categories will be represented.
The Grommet Wholesale is the first curated, online B2B e-commerce platform for discovery and sales of products by independent Makers. The platform allows retailers to stock their shelves with tested, curated and proven-to-sell products with the same ease that a customer experiences when shopping online. The program was recently launched as part of the first-ever White House Maker Faire in June 2014.
Drawing 35,000 attendees from all 50 states and 80+ countries, NY NOW® is produced twice annually and is open to the trade only. Held in January and August in New York City, the Market hosts 2,800 exhibiting companies and over 100,000 products showcasing the very best lines across the home, lifestyle and gift spectrum.
WHERE: Javits Center and Pier 94 in New York City
WHEN: Aug. 16-20, 9 – 6 p.m.

About The Grommet:
Founded in 2008, The Grommet is a curated online marketplace and product launch platform for undiscovered products that's reshaping the way people fundamentally launch, discover, share, influence and buy products online. Its mission is rooted in the philosophy of Citizen Commerce™, a movement that enables product purchases that express powerful contemporary values around sustainability, quality, technology and social enterprise. Since its founding, The Grommet has grown into a trusted and influential source for launching new products, having been among the very first to discover Fitbit, Soda Stream and Bananagrams, and making them into household names. In June, 2014 The Grommet launched a Wholesale Platform as part of the White House Maker Faire to connect Main street retailers with independent Makers, leveling the playing field for both and supporting small business across the U.S. Within five years, The Grommet wants to ensure that 10% of all products flowing through U.S. retail are originating from independent small-scale Makers, who create vibrant jobs and innovative products in every corner of the country.
