The Inn at Warner Hall Earns TripAdvisor 2013 Certificate of Excellence
Gloucester, VA (PRWEB) July 01, 2013 -- The Inn at Warner Hall earned a 2013 Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor thanks to guests consistently ranking the Virginia bed and breakfast high in their reviews.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by TripAdvisor, especially because it’s linked to the experience of our guests,” said Theresa Stavens, who owns and serves as Innkeeper and Special Events Planner for the Inn at Warner Hall with husband, Troy.
“The fact that our guests not only come back year after year, but also take the time when they get home to tell people about their stay, is humbling and tells us we’re creating the very environment we dreamed of.”
Now in its third year, the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award celebrates hospitality excellence and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor.
Winners of the Certificate of Excellence are located all over the world and represent the upper echelon of businesses listed on the website, with only the top 10 percent receiving the prestigious award, according to TripAdvisor.
"We're delighted to celebrate the success of hospitality businesses around the world…which are consistently offering travelers an outstanding customer experience," said Stephen Kaufer, president and CEO, TripAdvisor. "The Certificate of Excellence award provides top performing establishments the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most – their customers."
To qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travelers on TripAdvisor. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.
The Inn at Warner Hall previously earned the Top 10 Most Romantic Inns in Virginia by American Historic Inns, publisher of Bed & Breakfasts Guide Books and iLoveInns.com, was named among the top 10 most welcoming bed and breakfasts by Virginia Living and is listed by both the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Historic Landmarks Commission.
The Inn at Warner Hall also continues to be a proud member of Select Registry - Distinguished Inns of North America, an association which represents nearly 350 unique and distinguished inns, B&Bs and small hotels.
It sits at the head of the Severn River in Gloucester County. The manor house stands on a neck of land occupied and built upon continually from the mid-17th century.
The original six hundred-acre plantation site was established by Augustine Warner as a "land grant" from the British Crown. Augustine Warner received the acreage in exchange for bringing twelve settlers across the Atlantic Ocean to the Jamestown Settlement.
The two families associated with the property from this early period until well into the 19th century – the Warners and the Lewises – were among the most prominent families in Colonial Virginia. Some of the most recognized names in American history are direct descendants of Augustine Warner – George Washington, the first U.S. president, Robert E. Lee, the most famous Civil War general, and Captain Meriwether Lewis, renowned American explorer of the Lewis & Clark expedition.
Queen Elizabeth II, the current monarch of England, is a direct descendent of Augustine Warner through the Bowes-Lyon family and the Earl of Strathmore. In England, Warner Hall is referred to as "the home of the Queen’s American ancestors."
