The Institute for Behavioral Training Gives Away eLearning Training to Parents of Children with Autism for Autism Awareness Month
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) April 29, 2015 -- The Institute for Behavioral Training (IBT) today announced that its online training tool, Parent eLearning, is now available to parents of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) for free through May 8, 2015, in honor of autism awareness month. The deadline was extended through the first week of May due to interest from parents. Parents who sign up by May 8, 2015 will receive a free six-month subscription. The tool provides parents and caregivers with in-depth training on ASD, applied behavior analysis (ABA) treatment, behavior management techniques, as well as other important topics. IBT has provided training to over 5,000 people across the U.S. and overseas since 2013. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s announcement on March 27, 2014, autism impacts one in 68 children in the U.S. and one in 47 boys are diagnosed with ASD.
“When a child is diagnosed, parents need accurate information and accessible resources,” said Cecilia H. Knight, director of IBT. “We have a great tool and we want to put it in the hands of families who need it. With Parent eLearning, parents can access training topics anytime, anywhere and from any device.”
Parent eLearning, which includes over 40 hours of material, is divided into modules that provide information on the ASD diagnosis, evidence-based ABA treatment, managing problem behavior, working with siblings, and integrating the individual with ASD into the school and other community settings.
