The Institute for Venture Science Launches with Successful Symposium: Non-Profit to Fund Non-Traditional Science Experiments
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) October 05, 2015 -- The Launch Symposium of the newly-formed organization The Institute for Venture Science (IVS) was held at the University of Washington Club on the University of Washington campus. According to the IVS, the non-profit will be “funding promising ideas that challenge conventional thinking and non-traditional scientific inquiries that may produce fundamental breakthroughs.”
The invitation-only event presented four world-renowned speakers who addressed the difficulty of funding groundbreaking scientific experiments in today’s world. Presenters included Nobel Laureates Drs. Barry Marshall and Luc Montagnier along with Dr. Stephanie Seneff and Dr. William Bengston. The presentations were well received by the attendees who included international leaders in innovation, finance and critical thinking.
Dr. Gerald H. Pollack, internationally-recognized leading expert on water, professor at the University of Washington, founder of the IVS and its Executive Director, explained the concept of the IVS. The IVS will identify the most promising challenges to prevailing paradigms and then simultaneously fund multiple research groups worldwide for each selected challenge.
“An unconventional idea pursued by a dozen laboratories cannot be ignored. This means that challenged paradigms can compete on equal footing with prevailing paradigms,” said Dr. Pollack. He continued, “The superior one should prevail. This strategy of producing a critical mass for promising ideas can produce fresh, diverse understandings of the world in which we live.”
Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. James Ryder, former Vice President of Lockheed Martin Corporation added, “By fostering breakthroughs in thinking, the IVS will enrich the world with fresh vision and help create viable solutions for today’s seemingly intractable problems.”
