The King's Men Respond No to the Supreme Court Ruling
Quakertown, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) July 29, 2015 -- The King's Men, a non-profit men's organization based in the Philadelphia area, is organizing a witness at the White House on Saturday August 15th from 10-12 PM. In response to the Obergefell v. Hodges ruling on June 26th, The King's Men is committed to reclaiming marriage in the name of children. "Children have a right to a mother and father, and we intend to protect this right through the exercise of our First Amendment rights," says Mark Houck, Founder and President of The King's Men.
For the past 11 years, The King's Men has been uniting men under the mission of building men as authentic leaders, protectors and providers. The King's Men has built a reputation for their unwavering willingness and courage to stand against cultural and social issues like pornography, abortion and "same-sex" so-called marriage. Now, The King's Men has set their focus on reclaiming marriage. "The Supreme Court does not have the authority to change the definition of marriage. The recent ruling is unconstitutional and we have a duty to resist it in the public square," said Houck.
The King's Men is planning a national press conference at 6:00 PM on Friday August 14th in front of the DuPont Circle Hotel, 1500 New Hampshire Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20036. A prayer witness and rally will take place from 10-12 PM on Saturday August 15th at the White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C. 20500.
"For over 200 years, the United States of America has acknowledged marriage as between one man and one woman. Our founding fathers understood marriage as such and created a constitution to equip its citizens to defend their deeply held beliefs through freedom of speech and religion," shared Houck.
The "White House Witness" is a peaceful and prayerful demonstration. "We are hoping to galvanize 500 men and women to witness to the glory of God's plan for marriage and family life. Our program will be both inspiring and challenging. With dynamic and insightful speakers like Dr. Alan Keyes, Richard Lane, Brian Brown and Bill Devlin, we are confident that those gathered will be motivated to reclaim marriage in their state, " added Houck.
The King's Men organization plans to do future witnesses and outreaches at both the local and national level in an effort to protect every child's right to a mom and dad.
