The Lake Doctors Install a Fountain Tribute to Advocate for Vets, as Reported by Dayton Daily News, June 18th 2015
Dayton, OH (PRWEB) August 10, 2015 -- Last year Bob Neff, a master gardener working on the Civil War Park and Grotto, called The Lake Doctors and said he would like to get the grounds back to where they were, when it originally opened in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. He claimed that the upper pond had a fountain in it and he would like one to replicate it but did not know what it looked like. That's when The Lake Doctors got to work and did some research.
Looking through old books on Dayton they found pictures of the VA, and one picture showed that showed the actual fountain installed. It was a straight up jet of water about 40 feet or so. When Bob received the picture of the fountain he was thrilled. It was exactly the fountain he wanted and pictured. After much deliberation, he chose a 5hp Aqua-master fountain system. This fountain system has a 4 light 35W LED lighting system and a Double Eagle nozzle, which can shoot water 35 ft. high by 5 ft. wide.
What the VA ended up with was a fountain that looked just like the original picture. Historical accuracy was an important factor for this fountain install. The VA had a dedication for the fountain on Wednesday June 17, 2015. The fountain was paid for through private donations.
