The Language User Interface Can Prevent the Collapse of the Graphical User Interface
(PRWEB) August 12, 2015 -- William Meisel, President, TMA Associates, and the conference organizer, explained the conference theme: “The Language User Interface (LUI) at its core is driven by the maturing of natural language interpretation technology, which allows responding to a voice or text request from a user in the form we speak or text to each other. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) has been a powerful intuitive user interface, but is getting overburdened as applications get more features and as we deal with a variety of digital devices and services. The difficulty in using the GUI is most obvious on the smaller screens of portable devices such as smartphones, but also in other environments such as automobiles, where struggling with a touch screen offering many options can be dangerous. The LUI can be used independently of the Graphical User Interface if the interaction is completely by voice, essentially acting as a digital assistant. But the LUI can also complement the GUI, extending its utility by letting one navigate to a feature by simply asking for it, or get out of a screen by simply asking for another feature. The Mobile Voice Conference is the premiere event covering this important trend and its impact on companies and application developers.”
Bill Scholz, AVIOS president, added, “We are all familiar with the general personal assistants from leading companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Google, and Amazon. But what is less understood is that it is getting increasingly easy to develop more specialized virtual assistants using technology available from a number of vendors. Such specialized assistants can be company representatives for marketing, customer service, and technical support. They can operate within companies to ease use of enterprise software and internal communications, making organizations more efficient and effective.”
The Mobile Voice Conference covers the core technologies and tools required to use the Language User Interface. It also covers complementary technologies such as biometric voice authentication and user identification, multimodal interfaces where speech complements the GUI, and speech analytics that allow understanding your customer.
The conference is currently enlisting sponsors to be highlighted in upcoming announcements of detailed conference content.
