The Last Well Launches 10 for 1 Campaign to Support Kids’ Fundraising for Liberia Water Projects
Sulphur Springs, Texas (PRWEB) September 22, 2015 -- When eight year old Johnny White saw his father posting a picture of children playing under a water pump he asked what the image showed. His Dad told him that it was a photo of a village in Liberia that previously had dirty, diseased water, and now has clean water thanks to the efforts of The Last Well. Johnny asked “Would it help if I gave all the coins in my money box”. “Yes, and I’ll give 10 bucks for every dollar you donate,” his father replied. And with the spark of this child’s generosity, the 10 for 1 campaign was born.
To date, Texas non-profit The Last Well (TLW) has provided fresh water to more than 750,000 people in the West African nation of Liberia. In the next five years, the organization aims to extend clean water border to border, reaching a further 900,000 people. In addition to the support of corporations, TLW relies on the generosity of individuals to start fundraising initiatives like the 10 for 1 campaign.
“The Last Well came from the desire of a group of young people to change the world in their generation,” said TLW founder and director Dr. Todd Phillips. “I hope Johnny’s giving spirit inspires other children and their parents to support the 10 for 1 campaign and help us bring clean water to all of Liberia.”
Anyone wishing to donate to the 10 for 1 campaign or start their own sub-campaign can do so by visiting this webpage.
