The Latin Post Company Appoints Patricia Sierra-Sampson as New President and Publisher
New York, NY (PRWEB) January 13, 2015 -- The Latin Post Company announced today that Patricia Sierra-Sampson, publisher of Latin Post (http://www.latinpost.com), is officially adding “President” to her title. In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing the content development of additional vertical sites under The Latin Post Company umbrella that targets acculturated, bilingual and bicultural Latinos.
“Patricia came on board as publisher of Latin Post eight months ago at a pivotal time in our development. In our first year since launching in April 2013, our traffic grew to 2 million monthly unique visitors. At the close of 2014, we have doubled this traffic with an average of 4.3 million unique visitors and 5 million page views. Patricia has put a plan in place for new original content channels that we are confident will resonate with our readers and be a great environment for our advertisers to align their brands,” said The Latin Post Company CEO Simon Kim.
A seasoned publishing executive with over 20 years of media background in both print and digital, Sierra-Sampson was previously International Advertising Director for The New York Times Company where she was responsible for securing and managing Fortune 500 global accounts. Her publishing experience includes management roles in new business development and digital sales for the Dow Jones Regional Newspaper Group, and production at Philadelphia Magazine. She also previously owned a marketing consultancy, Creative Resources, servicing the web community.
“I am very excited about being a part of the Latin Post team and leading our expansion plans for 2015. Latin Post continues to focus on being the go-to hub for English dominant, bicultural Latinos looking for news and information,” said Sierra-Sampson. "The majority of our readers are upwardly mobile, bicultural millennials. We believe this new Latino generation is hungry for content that connects with them in a relevant way, and our aim is to deliver stories that strike a chord with this audience.”
Latin Post is launching feature content channels that highlight the positive impact and influence Latinos are having in politics, business, entertainment, and culture. The rollout includes, Turnout, a series that features leading Latino politicians, government leaders, and advocacy groups discussing and debating the most important issues facing this voting bloc. In the series launch scheduled for January 13th, Latin Post will address the issue of voter registration laws and mobilizing Latino millennials with LULAC Director of Education Policy, Luis Torres, and Rock the Vote President, Ashley Spillane.
Marketplace will focus on Latino entrepreneurs who have successfully identified an opportunity and turned their ideas into a thriving enterprise. The series begins January 14th with a profile of entrepreneur Andres Ruzo, CEO and Founder of Link America, one of the fastest-growing, Hispanic-owned businesses in the US with revenues that hit $213 million last year.
Changing the Game, showcases prominent Latino changemakers and their stories of success, innovation, and vision. Latin Post will launch the series with film director and maverick, Robert Rodriguez. Interviews with Anna Maria Chávez, Chief Executive Officer, Girl Scouts of the USA, and George Barrios, Chief Strategy & Financial Officer of the WWE, are also scheduled for the launch.
Latin Post will continue the standing feature, Palabras, every Thursday profiling prominent Latino authors and uncovering the new rising stars. Special exclusive interviews on January 15th with Isabel Allende and January 22nd with Sandra Cisneros are planned. Sabor, Latin Post's lifestyle content, publishes on Saturdays and will feature on January 17th, radio and TV personality Angie Martinez and Chef Angelo Sosa discussing their new cookbook, “Healthy Latin Eating: Our Favorite Family Recipes Remixed."
The US Census estimates that by 2018, Latinos will account for over 18 percent of the population—a 30 percent growth in just ten years. Much of this will be due to US births rather than immigration, which will result in a higher number of acculturated and bicultural Latinos. “Hispanic purchasing power is projected to reach $1.7 trillion by 2017, surpassing that of Asian-American and African-American minority groups,” Sierra-Sampson asserts. “This new Latino generation is a driving force in the economy, politics, and culture. They are a highly engaged, early-adoptive, trend-setting, loyal audience that should be on every editor's and marketer’s radar.”
