The Lemonade Stand Is Dead: Founder Game Refreshes Kids' Entrepreneurship Dreams
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) June 23, 2015 -- It’s time for children’s ambitions to move beyond their parents’ front lawns. In this golden age of entrepreneurship, kids’ dreams are too frequently trapped behind self-doubt fueled by authoritative words of discouragement. As a result, entire classrooms of innovative ideas are left unexplored or unfulfilled while generic lemonade stands continue to be set up across our nation’s suburbs. With just a little more entrepreneurial knowledge, children would be able to retire their lemonade stands and confidently attack their biggest dreams.
Startup skills are hard to come by in K-12 classrooms, which is why tools like Founder are so important. Founder is a tabletop strategy board game with tremendous educational potential. Founder is so effective because it offers participants the opportunity to simultaneously learn and apply. From hiring and firing to designing and negotiating, players experience real business decisions. The board game has already garnered high praise from university and middle-school students during play testing.
The positive feedback has overjoyed Founder’s creators, Alex Gabbi and Sreenivasa Gorti. Alex is a serial entrepreneur, business lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin, former manager at a Fortune-150 company, and a strategy board game aficionado. His business partner, Gorti, was a serial inventor and innovator in the corporate world. Intent on exiting the corporate world, Alex and Gorti decided to found their own company: Global Innovation Village (GIV). GIV is dedicated to helping others create, expand and manage their businesses. Moreover, a percentage of GIV’s profits are pledged to foster entrepreneurship through scholarship funds, startup competitions and investments in private social enterprises.
“We really believe in Founder’s potential to help people of all ages take ownership of their success and pursue their entrepreneurial dreams,” said Alex Gabbi.
Founder has been pre-released on Kickstarter by Global Innovation Village, LLC and will be available for backing until July 4th, 2015. Click on the following link to find out more: https://goo.gl/Dop5L9
