The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society And Navigating Cancer Expand Access To Information For Blood Cancer Patients
SEATTLE (PRWEB) January 05, 2018 -- The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to fighting blood cancer and improving the quality of life of patients and their families, will help even more patients and caregivers access the support they need through Navigating Cancer’s network of providers and patients.
Navigating Cancer’s patient education service, which includes content from validated sources including the National Cancer Institute, will now offer its provider network access to a variety of free resources and services for blood cancer patients. Linking to the LLS website, patients can connect with LLS information specialists, social workers and nurses who work one-on-one with blood cancer patients connecting them to free personalized information tailored to a patient’s specific diagnosis as well as to a variety of free resources and services, including:
- Clinical Trial Support Center – A highly unique and comprehensive service to assist patients in accessing clinical trials.
- Financial Support – Assistance with the cost of treatment, transportation and daily expenses.
- LLS Community – A free online network providing support and education to thousands of blood cancer patients and their caregivers.
- Patti Robinson Kaufmann First Connection Program – Peer-to-peer support program to help patients and caregivers cope with their disease by matching them with trained volunteers who have also been touched firsthand by a blood cancer.
- Co-Pay Assistance – Help for eligible blood cancer patients to pay for prescription drug co-pays and health insurance premiums.
- Local Support Groups – A program that gives patients and their families a place to go where they can share information, education and feelings in a comfortable and caring environment.
LLS Blood Cancer Information Specialists are available by phone at (800) 955-4572, and live chat or email via LLS.org – Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET. Information Specialists can speak to patients/caregivers in 170 languages.
Providers can make this information available to their patients via Navigating Cancer’s automated delivery engine to ensure that patients receive it when they need it most. The service can be activated with a click of a button, so patients who match the distribution criteria will be able to easily access important information to help them through diagnosis, treatment and more.
