The Libman Company Wins 2nd Annual “Race for Zero Waste” Competition
Arcola, Ill. (PRWEB) November 19, 2015 -- The Libman Company (Libman), an Arcola, Illinois-based manufacturer of household and commercial cleaning products, has won Green Purpose LLC’s second annual “Race for Zero Waste” competition, which concluded on America Recycles Day, November 15, 2015. Libman achieved first place among three other companies to earn the national title of “Most Successful Recycling Program.”
The “Race for Zero Waste” competition was created in 2013 by Green Purpose LLC, an eco-capitalist enterprise providing personalized sustainable solutions to companies. The competition is a platform through which to stimulate commercial recycling that establishes upgraded recycling programs, increases recycling rates for existing programs, and provides employees/program participants with educational opportunities about waste reduction.

Libman will receive the Zero Waste Seal of Excellence, an honor that recognizes a company’s outstanding efforts to eliminate the concept of waste in their facilities. Additionally, Libman will be inducted into the Race for Zero Waste Hall of Fame.
“Ultimately, the biggest winner of all is our community and the planet,” said Steven Rosenberg, chief executive officer and founder of Green Purpose, LLC. “One of the largest impacts from the esteemed “Race for Zero Waste” is the amount of material that has been diverted cumulatively over the last two competitions. Between all participating companies, over 15 million pounds of material have been diverted from Illinois landfills. This amount is the equivalent of saving approximately 93 thousand trees, 38 million gallons of water and 2 million gallons of oil. That’s why we have used our proven approach to develop this certification program,” said Rosenberg.
