The Little Gym Introduces 4 Ways to Help Raise a Citizen Kid
(PRWEB) March 11, 2015 -- Raising your child to be a Citizen Kid is important. Citizen kid qualities include sharing, working in a group, listening, leadership and so much more. Here are four ways to help encourage your child to be a Citizen Kid.
1. Be Kind. A child who learns the importance of being kind to others, including sharing, taking turns, showing consideration and caring for others, will continue being kind to others throughout their lives.
2. Have Respect. Teach your child the importance of being respectful of their peers, their environment, their belongings, and especially of themselves. A child with respect shows that they care for someone’s feelings, they treat others with kindness and courtesy, and they act in a way that shows they care for themselves and their well being. Respect is an important part of being a Citizen Kid.
3. Show Gratitude. Having manners is very important, but instilling true gratitude in your child goes far beyond manners. Offer your child perspective by teaching them why they should be grateful for the things, experiences, and people in their life. In fact, studies show that grateful people have higher levels of optimism and happiness… showing gratitude goes a long way.
4. Be Helpful. Encourage your child to be helpful by asking him or her to help around the house with daily tasks like cooking and cleaning. Tell your child how it made you feel when they helped you, and ask them how helping made them feel. These simple conversations will help your child understand the importance of helping and will encourage them to help others in the future.
Whether you’re at The Little Gym or at home, it’s important to encourage Citizen Kid behaviors to help your child grow into a well-rounded, well-adjusted super kid.
