The Lotus Pond – Center For Yoga and Health Will Celebrate Their 10th Anniversary at This Year’s Lotus Pond Yoga Festival
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- This year’s Lotus Pond Yogi Festival will be a special celebration of the 10th anniversary of the opening of The Lotus Pond. The Lotus Pond was initially opened by Val Spies in 2004 as The Lotus Room, near downtown Tampa. In 2006, Val purchased a 4800sq. ft. log cabin on 4.5 acres in Tampa to create the campus-like setting for The Lotus Pond.
With a growing reputation placing The Lotus Pond among the most highly regarded yoga training centers, the Yogi Festival invites students of yoga, and those new to yoga to visit The Lotus Pond and explore what the studio and the yoga community have to offer.
Activities for the Yogi Festival include yoga workshops for experienced yoga practitioners, yoga classes for all levels (both indoor and outdoor), yoga for children, meditation and much more. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day by a live DJ and visual performers. WholeFoods© of Tampa will present a healthy eating demonstration with sampling. A marketplace of unique and colorful vendors will offer items and services ranging from singing bowls to hula-hoops to thai yoga massage. Food for hungry festival goers will be available from the very popular rolling restaurant in Tampa: Taco Bus©.
The festival will culminate in the evening with a kirtan (music event) performed by nationally known kirtan artist David Newman (Durga Das).
Today, more people in The United States are practicing yoga than ever before. According to the website Statistic Brain (verified by Yoga Journal, Live Strong and others), 15 million Americans practice yoga. In the face of a challenging economy, it is not surprising that more and more people are re-evaluating that which is important to them and trying simpler more holistic practices and styles of living.
