The Louisiana Hayride to Re-Open Shreveport Municipal Auditorium with May 9 Concert
Shreveport, LA (PRWEB) April 25, 2014 -- The legendary Louisiana Hayride will return to the stage of Shreveport Municipal Auditorium, 7:30-10:30 p.m., Saturday, May 9, with an evening of live entertainment featuring Cole Vosbury, Dez Duron, Willie Jones, the Louisiana Hayride Band and more. This will be the first time that the three singers, who rose to fame as finalists on the nationally televised talent competitions, X-Factor and The Voice, will share a stage. The evening will also include the Louisiana Hayride Band performing “Hits of the Hayride,” as well as Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell presenting a tribute to Elvis Presley. Event producers are Alton Warwick, Ken Shepherd, Maggie Warwick, Brad Davis, Michael Long and Sam Voisin.
Tickets are $20 each and are now on-sale at the CenturyLink Center box office, all Ticketmaster locations, online at ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000. Tickets may also be purchased on the day of the show at Shreveport Municipal Auditorium. Proceeds from this fundraiser performance will benefit the Louisiana Hayride Foundation, Community Renewal International and Pet Savers of Shreveport.
The historic Shreveport Municipal Auditorium recently re-opened after being closed for more than a year while an extensive $5.3 million renovation project was carried out. The renovations brought the building, which has been designated a National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, into compliance with all accessibility requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The renovations also made improvements in such areas as new seating, flooring and air conditioning, upgraded dressing room and concession areas, and added a freight elevator for the loading and unloading of stage equipment.
Proceeds from this performance will aid the 501(c)(3) Louisiana Hayride Foundation in the creation of the Louisiana Hayride Hall of Fame and regional music museum to save, preserve and present the greatness of northwestern Louisiana’s authentic music heritage. Proceeds will also support Community Renewal International’s ongoing efforts to save and restore Shreveport-Bossier neighborhoods, as well as the Pet Savers of Shreveport mission to rescue, save and adopt homeless pets in the region.
