The Manhattanville School of Business Hosts Inaugural CPA Awards
Purchase, NY (PRWEB) December 01, 2014 -- The Manhattanville School of Business (MSB) proudly hosted the first-ever Westchester CPA awards Nov. 17 at the historic Reid Castle. The 2014 “Beyond the Bottom Line” awards ceremony was presented by People’s United Bank and was attended by more than 200 business professionals and their families.
Anson Augustine, a partner at Marcum LLP, was awarded the “Top Accountant Under 40;” Michael Hymes, owner and president of Hymes & Associates CPA, PC, was awarded “Most Trusted Advisor;” Anthony Justice, a partner at Maier Markey & Justice LLP; Kevin Keane, managing partner at O’Connor Davies LLP, was awarded “Best Managing Partner;” and Frank Pellegrino, founding and managing partner of Pellegrino & Company, was awarded “Most Community-Oriented.”
“The Manhattanville School of Business is privileged to host the first award ceremony honoring the outstanding achievements of Westchester’s CPAs,” said Dr. Anthony Davidson, dean of MSB. “Today’s CPA profession provides virtually unlimited opportunities, and we are pleased to showcase them to the educational community and beyond.”
Davidson said Manhattanville’s Masters of Science in Finance recognizes the realities of the new financial world “whether it’s on Wall Street or Main Street” and introduced the school’s new accounting concentration, which enables accounting majors to obtain valuable additional credit to meet the education requirements for CPA licensing. Davidson was also proud to announce that the Manhattanville School of Business is developing of an evening track for CPA majors to better serve working students.
