The McDonald Agency and the Interfaith Emergency Services Organization Announce Joint Charity Drive to Benefit Underprivileged Families in Marion County
Ocala, FL (PRWEB) January 18, 2016 -- The McDonald Agency, a locally owned insurance firm that provides coverage to thousands of families and businesses in Marion County and the surrounding areas, is joining Interfaith Emergency Services in an effort to provide critical support and services to local homeless and underprivileged families.
Since 1983, Interfaith Emergency Services has offered a host of emergency assistance programs to Marion County families in crisis. Funded by local businesses, churches, and community members, IES is 100% donation based. 93 cents of every dollar donated to IES is returned to the Marion County residents through a host of support services, including a food pantry, emergency shelter, and low-cost thrift store.
“Interfaith Emergency Services is a crucial resource for many families in our community, and this charity drive will help ensure they are able to carry their mission forward into the future,” says Kevin McDonald, founder and manager of the McDonald Agency.
To help spread the word about the charity drive, McDonald and his team are launching an online social media presence and an email awareness program. As well, the McDonald team will feature the charity effort in the upcoming release of “Our Hometown,” a monthly online magazine published by the McDonald Agency: http://www.themcdonaldagency.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_41.
In addition to supporting the efforts of the Interfaith Emergency Services organization, the McDonald Agency has embarked on a long-term commitment to assist at least one new local charity every other month from here forward.
