The Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class Has Found a New Home at One of the Nation’s Oldest and Largest Mercedes-Benz Dealerships, Mercedes-Benz of Arlington
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) July 15, 2013 -- The 2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class consists of the GLK350 and the new-to-the-lineup GLK250 BlueTEC®, a diesel-powered engine. Both models come standard with a seven-speed automatic transmission, while the GLK250 comes standard with 4MATIC® all-wheel drive; the GLK350 has an available upgrade for the standard rear-wheel drive. The revised nose of the GLK is fitted with a larger grille, headlight pods and lower air intakes; while at the opposite end there is a new bumper with integrated twin exhaust outlets. An optional AMG® package adds lower front, rear and side panels plus added air-intake trim. Nineteen-inch wheels are standard, with a choice of 20-inchers available.
The GLK250 BlueTEC® is the first diesel compact luxury crossover available in the U.S., boasting a turbocharged 2.1-liter four-cylinder diesel engine producing 190 horsepower and a healthy 369 lb-ft of torque. With a 15.6-gallon tank, the GLK250 offers a cruising range of 515 miles and delivers an EPA rating of 24/33 MPG city/highway. The BlueTEC® hits 60 mph in 7 seconds, which is most impressive, considering its gas-powered GLK350 sibling only just beats that time with a 6.4 second 0-60 acceleration.
For those who prefer gasoline power and more speed, the GLK350 is upgraded with the latest generation of Mercedes-Benz 3.5-liter V-6 engine. Now featuring direct injection, the GLK350’s engine is good for 302 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. EPA fuel economy ratings have been improved with the addition of a start/stop function that shuts the engine off when the car is stopped, coming out to an EPA rated 16/22 MPG city/highway.
The sales team at Mercedes-Benz of Arlington is happy to present a new vehicle to the line-up that offers superior SUV confidence with sport-sedan agility. As an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Top Safety Pick for 2013, the 2013 GLK-Class truly embodies the motto of Mercedes-Benz of Arlington’s inaugural General Manager, Saul Brooks. “Take care of the customer, that’s the main thing.”
