The Migraine Relief Center Releases Patient Guide to Migraine Surgery
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- Over 37 million people in the United States suffer from migraine headaches. Many of these people who have tried countless medications or treatments may be interested in learning more about migraine surgery. Migraine surgery offers an alternative to medication and could provide long-term relief from migraine symptoms.
The Migraine Relief Center has released a new eBook that introduces patients to migraine surgery techniques. The Patient Guide to Migraine Surgery walks patients through the treatment process from the initial consultation to post-surgery care.
The guide explains that nerve compression is the underlying cause of most cases of migraine headaches. When nerves in the scalp become pinched or compressed, they cause pain and the symptoms associated with a migraine. By targeting the nerves through surgical methods described in the eBook, the pain is alleviated or even eliminated entirely.
The guide is presented in an FAQ format which answers the most commonly asked questions from patients in detail. Patients can learn what to expect in the days leading up to the surgery. Just as important, is what results to expect and how to have a successful recovery period. There is also a helpful section for patients that are traveling to the Migraine Relief Center from out of town.
"Our goal is to help alleviate migraine pain from our patients using proven surgical techniques,” said Dr. Mark Khorsandi, of the Migraine Relief Center. "While we stress that no case is typical, our patients report less severity and frequency of migraines after surgery is performed.
The Patient Guide to Migraine Surgery was created to help patients gain a better understanding of migraine surgery and to understand the risks and benefits associated. It is available for download on the practice website.
