The Miracle League of Arizona is Looking for Athletes to Join the Winter and Spring Season; Enrollment Now Open for Winter Season
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) December 20, 2013 -- The Miracle League of Arizona, located in Northeast Scottsdale, is a non-profit charitable organization that enables over 200 children and young adults with special needs the opportunity to play the game of baseball, as a team member in an organized league.
Each special needs athlete gets a team jersey, placed in a league based upon his or her age and skill level, and matched with a ‘Buddy’, a one-on-one friend and helper. All athletes are encouraged to do as much as they can on their own, and the buddies are there to assist with the rest. Sometimes an athlete may require hand over hand aid, wherein other cases words of encouragement, high fives, or prompts on what to do next may be all that is needed.
It’s easy to join, to participate visit the website, http://www.mlaz.org and sign up. There is no charge to play, and donations are welcomed. The 2.3 million dollar stadium has a rubberized turf for easy maneuverability of wheelchairs and other adaptive devices. The complex also includes an adaptive playground and batting cages for all MLAZ ballplayers.
