The Montagu Arms Hotel Launches River Cruise Short Break Package
(PRWEB UK) 18 July 2014 -- Luxury New Forest Hotel, The Montagu Arms launches its River Cruise Break allowing guests to experience one of the few privately owned rivers in the world.
The Montagu Arms is situated along in the historic Beaulieu village on the bank of its privately owned river. The word Beaulieu means “Beautiful Place” in French and the area is popular among tourists as it is home to the Palace House and National Motor Museum.
The Beaulieu River Cruise Break offers guests an insight into the area’s fascinating history and the chance to admire the surrounding beauty of the New Forest National Park on a tranquil journey along the River.
The river is owned by the Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, whose custodianship of the Beaulieu River over four centuries has resulted in an unspoiled landscape that stretches 12 miles across the New Forest.
It runs through Beaulieu, across the New Forest, passing through the village of Bucklers Hard with a rich naval history and home to many small Georgian cottages.
The village was built by the second Duke of Montagu and was intended to be a free port for trade with the West Indies.
The Beaulieu River Cruise wends its way along the river with accompanying commentary revealing the history of the Beaulieu River and the abundant wildlife that inhabits its riverbanks.
After the cruise, guests can retire to the 4 star Montagu Arms Hotel back in Beaulieu village for two nights of luxury accommodation and a delicious New Forest breakfast each morning.
Sunil Kanjanghat, the Hotel Manager at the Montagu Arms Hotel, highly recommends the Beaulieu River Cruise and stated:
“The New Forest beholds much to explore, see and do. The Beaulieu River Cruise is a truly romantic, peaceful activity and has proven very popular among past guests and visitors to the area. We’re very fortunate to be located in such a charming little village full of history and character and this is something we will always encourage our guests to discover.”
The 30 minute cruise operates between April and November allowing plenty of opportunity to experience the cruise in the variety of colours and temperatures that spring, summer and autumn bring.
The Montagu Arms is widely regarded as one of the top places to stay and dine in the south, housing the only Michelin star restaurant in the New Forest and the best afternoon tea outside of London.
