The NBA Cafe Barcelona's Season Started Last Week!
Coconut Creek, Florida (PRWEB) October 11, 2016 -- After over a year in development, the long-awaited, first European installation of the NBA Cafe is set to open this week on La Rambla in Barcelona.
NBA Café Barcelona, the first space of this kind in Europe, will offer authentic dining and entertainment, while capturing the energy and feeling of the NBA in a local modern experience. Managed and operated by “AN Grup”, one of the largest restaurant brands in Spain, with more than 28 restaurants serving over five million customers a year, the NBA Café Barcelona will be designed by renowned interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán whose work includes more than 230 hotels, restaurants, and shops worldwide.
Covering 1,200 square metres, NBA Café Barcelona will feature a range of NBA imagery, memorabilia, and merchandise. On the food and drink side, the venue will offer “quintessential” American bar and grill favorites along with local and Mediterranean dishes.
“The NBA has a longstanding relationship with the fans and city of Barcelona,” said Jesus Bueno, NBA EMEA vice-president of business and basketball operations.
The menu items and beverages were developed by South Florida-based The Concept Gurus (TCG), a subsidiary of Next Hospitality Advisors, led by Doug Zeif, of Cheesecake Factory fame.
"This was an incredible project for us. This is not just another in a series of themed restaurants but a serious restaurant and bar that happens to be built around the culture of the NBA. It has everything both food & drink fanatics and basketball fans need to have a great time, and to keep coming back often," Zeif said.
"Working with the NBA and AN Grup teams in Barcelona was a great experience. It challenged us in many ways; particularly with the sourcing and replacement of "American" ingredients. Our commitment to creative excellence shows in this menu. It extends our reach as industry leaders for menu, restaurant and bar development."
