The Performance Group (TPG) a Sponsor at 6th Annual Notes & Words Benefit
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 04, 2015 -- Brainchild of author Kelly Corrigan (The Middle Place, Lift, Glitter and Glue), Notes & Words is an annual fundraising event that brings authors and musicians together to perform at the Paramount Theater in Oakland. The event just wrapped-up its sixth year with nearly two thousand audience members turning out to support UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.
This year’s musical lineup included newcomer singer and songwriter Kelly McFarling whose guitar skills and powerful voice make her one of the “ones to watch.” Diverse writer talent included author, journalist, and opinion columnist Anna Quindlen and San Francisco native Daniel Handler who is best known for his work under the pen name Lemony Snicket. While the evening’s lineup was impressive, the heart of the show resided in the kids whose immense talent and charisma wowed audience members.
The evening’s festivities also included a swanky VIP tent sponsored by The Performance Group (TPG) in partnership with Dalton Fine of So Fine Event Design. Marked by free-form architectural elements and dramatic blue lighting, the tent’s immersive environment offered VIPs a cool pre event networking lounge. A bit of surprise and delight came after the show when guests returned to find the tent washed in red lighting…perfect for containing a night full of high energy dancing.
When asked, both TPG and So Fine said they were thrilled to take part in such a charitable cause. “So Fine Event Design loves working with TPG,” Dalton explained. “As partners, we share the same values and each of us jumped at the chance to support Children’s. It’s in Oakland, right in our backyard.”
Kelly Corrigan commented on the pre and post party experience and the importance of celebrating the evening’s VIPs. “We are always looking for ways to thank our VIPs and capture more professionals looking to support a philanthropic cause.” TPG’s owner, Suzanne Ashton, was one such donor, and she concluded by saying, “Notes & Words is a fabulous evening event. One that’s full of heart and top-notch entertainment.”
