The Performance Institute Welcomes Public Safety Professional Dedicated to Seeing FirstNet Designed, Deployed, and Operational
Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) April 23, 2015 -- The Performance Institute (PI) is proud to announce Ray Lehr as its PI Fellow, Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network. With a focus on the needs and concerns of federal, state, and local communications, he’s a tireless FirstNet proponent, working to get the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network (NPSBN) designed, deployed, and operational for today’s needs, as well as planning for the operation, maintenance, and upgrade of the network in a reliable and cost effective manner for decades to come.
As a Senior Consultant, Lehr now works with the Mid-Atlantic Consortium for Interoperable Nationwide Advanced Communications MACINAC (MD, VA, DE, PA, and WV) to insure the deployment is seamless in the FEMA Region 3. With PI, he provides the FirstNet community and other government leaders with guidance in the latest NPSBN research, training, and performance consulting.
Ray’s practical experience as a former Fire Chief and Incident Commander along with his work with many state and local officials on state-of-the-art public safety technology, gives him a strong understanding of the complexity of this new challenge. “It took a united effort by dedicated and diverse groups to ensure the creation of FirstNet and the funding and spectrum to take the NPSBN a step closer to reality,” says Lehr. “Now, it will take this group of public safety organizations, governmental groups, along with commercial and manufacturing groups, and nonprofits, to ensure first responders have a reliable network when the next crisis hits.”
Performance Institute Fellows provide thought leadership and hands-on expertise to clients, advancing PI’s mission to transfer knowledge to transform government organizations.
