NEW YORK, Oct. 31, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Over the past three months, the Peruvian Government has been concerting the final executive decisions to kick off its new approach to the North American markets for all initiatives related to textiles and fashion.
As a growing and powerful global player relying on its almost exclusive production of Pima Cotton and Baby Alpaca Wool in the world, two of the most luxurious and loved fibers of all time, the South American country just made a strong move and kicked off a three-year plan to market and develop its outstanding production of textiles and fashion design at the international level.
Through a collaboration that involves both the direct department for fashion in Promperu and theTrade Commission of Peru in New York, a high profile project agreement was just signed and put into action thanks to a partnership with the renowned US producer and platform FTL MODA.
PRECIOUS TEXTILES AND POP UP SHOP
The project's focus is on marketing and development of high quality collections in Pima Cotton and Alpaca Wool, and on the growth of brand identity related to the most promising designers of "Made in Peru'". The project will be promoted and known as The Peruvian Hub at FTL MODA (PeHModa), in the hearth of Manhattan, and will focus on key actions in marketing, business development, celebrity endorsement, and distribution.
A contemporary and energetic POP UP SHOP will also be active on the Bowery this December, in a venue previously chosen by several high profile celebrities.
PERUVIAN DESIGNERS AND PLAN OF ACTIVITIES
Ten emerging designers will be featured and fully represented at the PeHMODA: SITKA SEMSCH, JORGE LUIS SALINAS, CLAUDIA BERTOLERO, MECHE CORREA, SUMY KUJON, ESCUDO, EQUI-LIBREUM, JESSICA BUTRICH, TITI GUIULFO, and ANI ALVAREZ CALDERON.
Major Peruvian labels Kuna and Sol Alpaca will also join the POP UP retail.
An impactful presence in the most accredited trade show in the US, COTERIE in NY will be developed to give visibility to collections and prime materials.
A series of marketing actions, including Times Square Billboard featuring, red carpet events at the new showroom, and high profile editorials for a few of the most recognized magazines in the world will be implemented through the initiatives of FTL MODA.
THE FTL MODA DIRECTION AND NYFW
A high profile presentation will be prepared for New York Fashion Week in February 2018, with promotion and distribution at the international level.
And finally, FTL MODA agents will implement a rooted outreach activity to present collections to retail stores, targeting 350 key players of the high end fashion industry in the US and Canada: among them, two department stores that have already shown great interest in the contemporary and sophisticated vision of new Peruvian designers.
All activities will be handled by FTL MODA in direct collaboration with the Trade Commission of Peru in New York and with the support of PromPeru.
