The Pier Antique Show Welcomes Exceptional Crowds
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 23, 2015 -- U.S. Antique Shows recently concluded the Pier Antique Show at Pier 94, Nov. 14-15, 2015. The company reported impressive crowds across the show floor as well as at the on-site events, such as Appraisal Day and the Tiffany Glass Series.
“We hosted three events at this November’s show to assist in garnering new interest from those who have not attended before. The effort was a huge success. We saw an exponential increase of people at Appraisal Day and the Tiffany Glass Series prompted an interest in buying art glass at the show,” says Dan Darby, Emerald Expositions vice president and U.S. Antique Shows general manager. “Additionally, we announced the inaugural Antiques Young Gun of the Year, which honors a young professional working in the antiques industry.”
The show’s discounted admission enticed attendees as evident by the long lines at the beginning of each show day. Tickets were reduced from $20 to $10.
New this November, the show also featured a distinct section of exhibitors from the International Vintage Poster Fair, the world’s oldest and largest poster fair. These dealers showcased a wide array of original posters from the 1890s through the 1980s. Genres included travel and transportation, food and product advertising, war and propaganda, and much more.
“Large enthusiastic crowds of both experienced buyers and newcomers to vintage posters made the Poster Fair a great success. Co-branding the smaller specialty Poster Fair into the larger Pier Antique Show proved a fabulous model, benefiting antique and collectible lovers of all fields and areas of interest,” says International Vintage Poster Fair Co-Producer David Pollack.
In addition, the Pier show’s dealers had outstanding remarks to say about the entire weekend event.
George Sorensen of George Sorensen Antiques, who is known for his beautiful French Art Glass, had an astounding show, selling multiple pieces. “This November’s Pier Antique Show was my best show ever and I hope that I can return again next year. The show has allowed me to build a great client base in New York.”
First time dealer to the Pier show, Paul MacLardy of Arise Bazaar, also commented on the remarkable success he had at his booth. “The show attracted a good and knowledgeable crowd that appreciated all aspects of design. I sold a wide variety including art, textiles, Buddhist and three-dimensional pieces and I have a lot of follow up with clients after the show.”
The Pier Antique Show features more than 300 exhibitors presenting incredible collections of antique and vintage merchandise. Items featured on the show floor include a range of kitchen and home décor, paintings, antique jewelry, art glass, ceramics, and more. Also a varied selection of vintage clothing, jewelry, and handbags are available in the popular Fashion Alley area of the show.
