The Puyallup RV Show Celebrates 40 Years
Puyallup, WA (PRWEB) April 21, 2014 -- Over 15 local dealers will display all of the latest new RV models at The Puyallup RV Show. This event will also include on-site manufactured housing—a great option for either a vacation or retirement home.
This year, there will be a full line-up of seminars. Gary Bunzer, “The RV Doctor”, will be presenting “Part II” of several presentations he made at The Seattle RV Show. MHRV Show Director, Dave Helgeson, will be conducting a follow-up to his very popular Boondocking presentation. Show sponsor, WSECU, will be presenting Saturday and Sunday seminars about the intricacies of financing a RV, and there will be a RV Driving Workshop for those interested in some helpful driving and safety tips.
One dollar from every non-discounted adult and senior ticket sold at the box office will be donated to the financially-challenged Washington State Parks. WSECU is joining in with a matching dollar-for-dollar donation as well.
A unique feature at this year’s show will be the Vintage RV Exhibit. Several models from years gone by will be on display illustrating the heritage and evolution of recreational vehicle history. The star of the show will be the “Canned Ham”, a custom-made motorhome.
According to RVIA (Recreational Vehicle Industry Association), shipments of RVs in 2014 are expected to total more than 335,000 units, which would be the highest total since 2007. In a Harris Interactive survey, owners reported that RV travel enables them to experience nature and outdoor activities and enjoy quality family time. RVers reported stronger bonds with loved ones and benefits to children. RVers also cited healthier eating on the road, sleeping in their own bed and having their own bathroom facilities as advantages.
“The Puyallup Show is terrific because it’s such a great venue. We’re able to present everything from tent and travel trailers to fifth wheels and toy haulers to rolling mansion motor homes and vacation homes that you can put on a lake,” says Dave Helgeson, MHRV show director. “There’s no question people will discover something to enhance any leisure dream they might have.”
Parking is free at The Puyallup RV Show and attendees can save two dollars when they buy their tickets online at ThePuyallupRVShow.com. Opening day, Thursday, May 1st, is “Manufactured Housing Day”, sponsored by DeTray's Custom Housing, Lakeview Meadows, Palm Harbor Homes and Skyline Homes. Attendees will receive an additional dollar off admission ($3 total) when they purchase adult or senior tickets online for that day. Show hours are 11am-8pm Thursday and Friday; 10am-8pm Saturday and 10am-5pm Sunday.
The Puyallup RV Show is promoted through the MHRV (Manufactured Homes Recreational Vehicles) Show Association, a not-for-profit industry group. It consists of manufacturers, dealers and vendor member organizations with an all-volunteer Board of Directors. The majority of funds collected go directly toward advertising and promotion of the shows. The MHRV Show Association was created for the express purpose of promoting the RV and manufactured home industries. Three major consumer shows are produced each year to support this effort: The Seattle RV Show (in February), The Puyallup RV Show (in May) and The Seattle Fall RV Show (in September). The shows attracts over 35,000 consumers each year. Click MHRVShows.com for more information.
