The Rady Venture Fund is a Unique Learning Opportunity for Business Students
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) January 02, 2014 -- The Rady Venture Fund has helped small businesses get their start in the San Diego area. The Rady Venture Fund is a part of the Rady School of Management which is celebrating ten successful years teaching students how to be successful entrepreneurs, business managers and venture capitalists.
The Rady Venture Fund is a unique learning opportunity for the business students at the Rady School of Management (http://management.ucsd.edu/ ) as they help make the decisions on which products and businesses will receive venture capital. To date, the Rady Venture Fund and the other entrepreneurial programs at Rady School of Management have helped over sixty small businesses and helped to generate over 100 new products.
Harry Rady, on the Deans Advisory Board at the Rady School of Management said, “I am proud to be associated with such an innovative school that supports the entrepreneurs and business leaders of tomorrow. I applaud the faculty for its growth in these past ten years and celebrate them for ten successful years in education.” The Rady family helped the growth of the Rady School of Management with a generous donation that led to the school adding the Rady family name.
The students gain hands-‐on experience in the Rady Venture Fund making business investment decisions. This gives them a unique education that complements their courses in new venture finance and venture capital management at the Rady School of Management. Most recently, the students participated with the Rady Venture Fund and Tech Coast Angels in a $16 million Series B raise in startup Savara Pharmaceuticals.
