The Ranch At Dove Tree Opens Outpatient Center
LUBBOCK, Texas (PRWEB) April 21, 2015 -- The Ranch at Dove Tree, a substance abuse treatment facility in Lubbock, has opened a new counseling center that will provide its clients with a variety of group and individual services. The center at 2401 20th Street will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nearly 20 professional counselors and therapists who make up the center’s staff will offer support services to help people with addictions to drugs, alcohol, food and sex, as well as trauma resolution, marital and family issues and stress reduction. The center also will serve individuals who suffer from co-existing illnesses, such as depression, anxiety and bi-polar disorder. In addition to traditional counseling and therapeutic methods, the center will offer highly experiential therapy specifically geared to dealing with issues of vulnerability, courage, shame and self-worth. The counseling center’s group services will be offered on different days of the week and different times in order to accommodate as many people as possible. The groups will focus on specific needs. These include:
• Young Men in Recovery, led by Jack Britton, a licensed professional counselor chemical dependency counselor. This group will encourage men aged 18-28 to challenge one another in their life choices and to provide feedback about identifying and responding to their issues.
• Eating Disorders and Self-Harm Group, led by Lauren Day, also a licensed professional counselor and chemical dependency counselor. Individuals and their loved ones will have an opportunity to gain education and insight about these addictions amidst the support of peers. The group is open to men and women over 18.
• Adolescent Support Group, led by Michael Vela, licensed clinical social worker and chemical dependency counselor. This group will assist teen-agers in various issues, including self-esteem, relationships, bullying, depression and anxiety. The group will provide help with coping skills and problem solving. It is open to teens 14-18 who are still in high school.
• Men’s All Addiction Recovery Group, led by Paul Loveless, licensed professional chemical dependency counselor. The group will focus on behavioral and substance addiction issues and will provide resources for recovery.
• LGBTQ Recovery Group is open to individuals 18 and over. Its purpose is to support and serve as an educational resource for sexual gender minorities seeking recovery from chemical or process addictions. The goal of the LGBTQ Recovery Group is to help individuals elicit their own support while also being able to support others; requires practice in setting boundaries and expectations of interpersonal relationship with fellow group members.
