The Salt Lake Tribune Home and Garden Festival Opens Its Doors March 6 with New Features and National Celebrity Guests
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) February 23, 2015 -- The Salt Lake Tribune Home and Garden Festival begins Friday, March 6, 2015 and continues through Sunday, March 8 at the South Towne Expo Center. This season, Matt Blashaw, host of Yard Crashers on DIY Network and HGTV, and the Girls with Glasses bloggers will take the Design Stage throughout the weekend to share tips, tricks, and showcase their talents. Also, Chef Katie Weinner, best known as a Bravo TV’s Top Chef contestant on season 12, will demonstrate her favorite recipes on the Kitchen Stage presented by SelectHealth.
Blashaw is a licensed contractor who has worked in a variety of sectors in the construction and entertainment industries. On DIY Network’s Yard Crashers, Blashaw transforms everyday backyards into innovative and beautiful outdoor spaces, and he joins this spring’s festival to highlight the best backyard projects any homeowner can tackle. Blashaw will be on the Design Stage on Friday, March 6 at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 7 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 8 at 1 p.m.
Brooke White, American Idol season 7 contestant, and Summer Bellessa, creator of the fashion and lifestyle magazine ELIZA, combined their talents to create the popular blog and web series called The Girls with Glasses. As trendsetters, this duo shares do-it-yourself projects, fashion inspiration, and lifestyle advice. Both White and Bellessa will be on the Design Stage on Friday, March 6 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Chef Katie Weinner from Bravo TV’s Top Chef season 12 has made a name for herself in the local culinary world. As the creator of SLC POP, a pop-up restaurant business in Salt Lake City, Weinner mixes her artistic ideas and unique cooking style to create culinary masterpieces. Weinner will be on the Kitchen Stage on Friday, March 6 at 6 p.m., Saturday March 7 at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Sunday March 8 at 3 p.m.
Additionally, the Salt Lake Tribune Home and Garden Festival will feature 25,000 square feet of indoor landscaping gardens from eight local landscaping companies, as well as a lineup of informative garden and landscaping presentations. Also, festival guests are encouraged to participate in the Better Gnomes & Gardens Silent Auction throughout the weekend and the Blooming Hope Flower Auction on Saturday, March 7 at 3 p.m. All proceeds go to Primary Children’s Hospital.
