The School of Internet Marketing Discusses Silk Road and Dread Pirate Roberts
Jersey City, New Jersey (PRWEB) October 27, 2013 -- For his weekly podcast dated October 18, 2013, Jonathan Goodman discussed the Dread Pirate Roberts case. Goodman is the president of Halyard Consulting and instructor at The School of Internet Marketing.
Goodman began his podcast by informing listeners that he was using Google Plus Hangouts for the first time to produce the episode because of the reported increased importance of Google Plus since the latest update of Hummingbird.
Goodman pointed out that the Dread Pirate Roberts case hasn't been one to achieve much media attention, but he considers it newsworthy. He went through the details of Silk Road, which was an anonymous website that sold drugs online. It was run by Ross Ulbricht, a graduate from the University of Texas – Dallas. Instead of using cash or credit cards, Silk Road used Bitcoins as the currency to make purchases.
"There's a lot of weird stuff in this story and it's just amazing to me how the national media just isn't interested in it at all." – Jonathan Goodman
Goodman mentioned the allegations that Ulbricht hired two hit men to kill people that knew his identity. While this has not been confirmed, it is a particularly chilling piece of information if it is true. Silk Road and the Dread Pirate Roberts becomes a high-tech illegal operation in the 21st century and one worth studying.
In an announcement to loyal listeners, Goodman provided details about the direction his podcast is headed for 2014. He plans to focus more on schema and provide in-depth analysis into the subject.
