Seattle, WA (PRWEB) February 18, 2015 -- The Seattle Times event series, LiveWire – Conversations that Spark Insight, will present “Priced Out: The struggle for an affordable Seattle” on Tuesday, March 31, 6:30 p.m. at the University of Washington’s Kane Hall.
The Seattle Times LiveWire event series features meaningful discussion about vital issues impacting our region and its people. The events bring together local and national experts for provocative conversations on key topics moderated by Seattle Times journalists.
This third Seattle Times LiveWire event, “Priced Out: The Struggle for an affordable Seattle,”
will feature local and national leaders in a conversation exploring affordability in a region where jobs are growing at a faster pace than in much of the nation, but where income disparity is greater than ever before. Affordability is not just a problem for the poor but for families, teachers and even young professionals.
Seattle Times business reporter Sanjay Bhatt will moderate a discussion about affordability in our growing and economically dynamic region. Joining Sanjay will be Zillow senior economist Skylar Olsen, the SEIU’s David Rolf, Jake McKinstry, principal with Spectrum Development Solutions, which has developed both market rate and affordable housing, and other local and national experts on the intersection of wages, public policy and housing costs.
Microsoft has partnered with The Seattle Times as the presenting sponsor for the first four LiveWire events. Also partnering on the series as principal sponsor is the University of Washington, and the Sabey Corporation as major sponsor. Additional event specific sponsors are being sought.
