The Secrets to Maintaining Career Success
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) January 19, 2015 -- After working your way through college, earning your degree and polishing your resume, that first entry-level job opportunity comes along and you easily nail the interview from your months of practicing in the mirror and receive an offer the next day. What now?
Seasoned businessman and author Ted Bagley has made it his mission to help college graduates and professionals making a job change prepare for the corporate workforce. “Many people are able to secure a job simply from credentials,” Bagley said. “But what about keeping that job long-term?”
In Bagley’s new book, “The Success Factor: Navigating the Treacherous Waters of Corporate America,” he reveals the characteristics employees need to survive and prosper in the competitive, ever-changing working world.
“My goal is to send a strong message to our young people about values, hard work and responsibility,” Bagley said. “I see so many bright young people who come into corporate America without a clue of what to expect and how to handle the politics of big business.”
Throughout his experience at the helm of several major companies, Bagley recognized one of the major problems employees face in creating a cohesive environment is the growth in diversity. Corporate America is not only made up of one particular type of person anymore.
“Because of the economy, there are four generations of employees surviving under one corporate roof,” Bagley said. “The different cultures, generations and ethnicities all have separate motivations and values, and we need to respect the differences between them.”
