The Sloth Institute of Costa Rica’s Sam Trull to speak at 2014 Annual Wildlife Conservation Symposium
Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica (PRWEB) December 01, 2014 -- Sam Trull, Wildlife Manager at The Sloth Institute Costa Rica, part of the sloth program at Kids Saving the Rainforest and has been invited to share her expertise on “Methods for the Rescue, Rehabilitation and Release of two Costa Rican Sloth Species” at the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council’s 2014 Symposium in Cleveland, Ohio. Trull and her efforts to raise sloth babies were featured on the BBC’s “Natures Miracle Orphans” 2 part series which aired in August.
“We are thrilled to be able to contribute to the discovery of the successful raising and reentry of baby orphaned sloths and other animals,” said Jennifer Rice, PHD, President of Kids Saving the Rainforest. “Our organization’s commitment to helping with the feeding, care and rehabilitation of these baby sloths has been key to their eventual successful reentry to their natural habitat. I am so honored to have been chosen to speak at this internationally recognized wildlife conference and to have been provided a scholarship to attend. We are so excited to be able to share what we’ve learned so far about raising orphaned sloths so that they can eventually successfully released back into the rainforest where they belong”, said Sam Trull, Wildlife Manager at KSTR.org and The Sloth Institute of Costa Rica.
Sam Trull was one of the individuals involved with the rescue of a 3 toed pregnant sloth which underwent the first C- section known to have taken place, capturing the interest of media organizations worldwide.
