The Smart Water Networks Forum Announces New Executive Director
Surrey, England (PRWEB) May 19, 2016 -- The Smart Water Networks Forum (SWAN), a leading worldwide industry forum promoting the development and adoption of data technologies in water networks, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Amir Cahn as its new Executive Director. The announcement comes on the heels of SWAN’s 6th Annual Conference in London, the largest event to date in this growing sector of Smart Water, attracting over 180 water professionals from 24 countries. SWAN also recently welcomed several, new significant members including General Electric (GE), Sierra Wireless, Inflowmatix, CAP Group from Italy, and Smart Utility Systems (SUS).
The promotion of Mr. Cahn comes after spending three years as part of the SWAN team as our Director of Research and Business Development. “Building a global network of innovators, utilities, thought leaders and investors who share the common goal of making the water industry smarter is more important than ever in today’s world of shrinking resources and greater demands,” said Amir Cahn. “Together, we have the opportunity to shape the future of the water industry and I could not be more excited to lead a cause and organisation I am passionate about and truly believe in.”
In response to Mr. Cahn’s new appointment, SWAN Chairman and CEO and Founder of TaKaDu, Amir Peleg said, “From day one, Amir has taken a central role in developing the organisation into a significant industry force. During his time at SWAN, he helped create innovative research tools such as the SWAN Interactive Architecture Tool and SWAN SMART SCORE. I am happy for him to now take the lead on SWAN’s important mission.”
Amir has also authored numerous works including a SWAN white paper comparing global water regulators and the SWAN Global Utility Survey. His articles have been published in several top industry outlets including the Journal AWWA, Australian Water Management Review, Water and Sewerage Journal, Aquastrategy, and Aquatechtrade. Before joining SWAN, Amir completed a dual-master's degree in Environmental Science and Public Affairs from Indiana University.
