The Tedesco Agency Joins Forces with the Samaritan Inn to Provide Critical Services for Homeless and Underprivileged Citizens in Collin County
McKinney, TX (PRWEB) August 17, 2015 -- The Tedesco Agency, a full service insurance firm that serves Plano, Dallas, and nearby communities, is launching a charity drive to help gather funds for a homeless shelter in McKinney, the Samaritan Inn, that provides support for underprivileged and hungry families in Collin County.
The Samaritan Inn has been actively assisting poor and hungry families in and around Collin County for over 30 years, and more than 20,000 individuals have called the shelter home during that time. On a typical night, the Samaritan Inn offers food and shelter to more than 150 people, and over a third of them are children.
More than simply a shelter, the Samaritan Inn also offers underprivileged community members a host of services at no cost, including professional caseworkers, licensed mental health counselors, job training, computer and financial literacy classes, and even a laundry service.
"The Samaritan Inn has been a critical safety net in our community for a generation, and we’re calling on all our friends and neighbors to join us in supporting this venerated organization,” says Jake Tedesco, owner and operator of the Tedesco Agency. The Tedesco team is already hard at work shaking trees in an effort to spread awareness about the work done by the Samaritan Inn and to gather donations that will be used to ensure that the Samaritan remains fully funded and capable of continuing to provide critical services to the homeless.
Along with the Samaritan Inn, Jake Tedesco and his team have launched fundraising drives for several other local charities, and plan on continuing to find even more charities throughout the Dallas area to support in the future. “We’re going to find a new local charity to support every two months,” pledges Tedesco. “The Tedesco Agency is proud of our connection to our community, and we’re going to continue offering support to those who need it for as long as we’re able.”
