New York, NY (PRWEB) March 17, 2014 -- Today, the editors at NYCTourist.com (http://www.nyctourist.com) released their Top 5 Romantic Date Ideas in New York City.

“New York City is your oyster if in New York City for a date!” says Jamie Carr, editor of NYCTourist.com, “Whether travelers are here for an engagement, anniversary, honeymoon, or just because, the opportunities for romance are endless in New York City. Not everyone’s idea of romance is the same, and New York City recognizes that with so many different options for a date night!”

Guests should plan ahead to create the perfect date night regardless of taste, so here are the Top 5 Most Romantic Date Ideas in New York City:

1. Dinner and a Show
Don’t complicate things too much, stick to the meat and potatoes of dates! Guests should stop at Club A Steakhouse in Midtown for dinner and try to sit upstairs, where the dim lighting makes for a perfect romantic setting. Aside from melt in your mouth steaks, among the many options for savory sides is the delicious creamed spinach, which has both locals and travelers alike raving! Indulge in their decadent homemade cream puffs over a glass of wine for dessert before heading to Broadway and see what has made this street an iconic New York City landmark! Chicago, Wicked, and Mamma Mia! are all great options for a date.

2. Wine and...diamonds?
Wine is a great way to loosen up on nerve racking first dates or proposals! Uncorked Wine and Tapas in Midtown is perfect, as the ambiance is intimate and chic, but not too stuffy. Share a bottle of wine and relax with your date as you snack on their delectable cheese plate. This place is absolutely perfect for a proposal, as their Diamond is Forever Martini comes complete with grey goose vodka, lime juice, and a 1 carat diamond engagement ring! If travelers do opt for this $10,000 cocktail, please note that this drink requires a 72 hour advanced notice. For more information visit http://www.UncorkedNYC.com.

3. Halloween in March
If travelers prefer a more unconventional type of date, we recommend checking out Times Scare, a themed venue where it’s Halloween all year long! Sip on creepy cocktails at the Kill Bar, such as the Ghost Cocktail and the Kiss of Death. Complete your evening by running through scary corridors in the Haunted House located upstairs, where monsters and zombies (or actors?) jump out when it is least expected! See their website for more details and specials.

4. Comedy and Dancing
What better way to break the ice than laughing and partying? Hit either The Broadway Comedy Club (Times Square) or The World Comedy Club (Midtown), then have some cocktails and dance the night away at Webster Hall, NYC’s oldest and largest club in trendy East Village.

5a. All the single ladies…
Guests shouldn’t worry if they’re without a date in New York City! NYC home to amazing nightclubs, bars, and restaurants that are great to meet new people, but if travelers want to embrace their single status, On Location Tours offers an amazing Sex and the City Hotspots Tour. This tour would be perfect to bring girlfriends along and walk around Carrie & Co.’s old stomping grounds. There are a few options for this tour depending on the neighborhood that guests wish to see, but all would make for an amazing Girl’s Day Out! Check out http://www.onlocationtours.com for a complete list of tours and more information.

5b. And guys, too!
The men have not been forgotten! For the ultimate single guy’s night out, check out Rick’s Cabaret in Midtown, which doubles as a steakhouse and a gentleman’s club. Or, try the upscale gentleman's club Sapphire New York on 333 E. 60th Street in Manhattan.

To top off the evening, check into one of New York City’s finest hotels such as Loews Regency or The London NYC and rest up for the next day ahead. Check for special packages and promotions.
